RACE FOR WARMTH 10K RUN AND 5K WALK/RUN TO BENEFIT CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES’ OPERATION WARM HEART

WHAT:  Fourth annual Race for Warmth to support Operation Warm Heart, a Clark Public Utilities customer-funded program to help families in financial crisis pay heating bills. Participation in the event helps raise awareness for Operation Warm Heart and all proceeds go to help local neighbors in need. The timed 10k run and 5k walk/run will both start and finish at the Clark Public Utilities downtown location. A free race for kids ages 3-8 years old will kick-off the event.

WHEN: January 28, 2018. Kids race begins at 8:30 a.m. All other events to follow.

COST:  Registration is $30 and includes a long-sleeve performance shirt and race bag.
Pre-registration is recommended and available online through January 27, 2018 at www.raceforwarmth.com. Day of registration is available, please allow extra time and note that a shirt will not be guaranteed.

DETAILS:  The Race for Warmth is produced and hosted by Clark Public Utilities with support from local businesses including Area Heating & Cooling, Trane, New Tradition Homes, Columbia Credit Union, Chuck’s Produce, Burgerville, Trusty’s Brewing and many more.

Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each race for men and women. An after party will be held across the street from Clark Public Utilities with food and beverages for registered participants provided by event partners.

Since its creation in 1985, Operation Warm Heart has provided more than $2.5 million to about 12,000 customers in financial crisis. The donor-funded program helps families in need who may not qualify for other government programs. For more than 30 years, Clark Public Utilities customers and employees have generously funded Operation Warm Heart.
