CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES RANKED HIGHEST IN SEGMENT FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BY J.D. POWER, 16 YEARS IN A ROW
VANCOUVER, WA – Dec. 13, 2023 – For the 16th consecutive year, J.D. Power recognizes Clark Public Utilities as the highest ranking utility in residential customer satisfaction among midsize electricity providers in the Western United States.
The J.D. Power 2023 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study measures customer satisfaction with residential electric utilities by examining six key factors, which cover all areas of utility operations: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications and customer care. Surveyed customers scored Clark Public Utilities highest in all six categories the study observed.
“Participation in the J.D. Power study is not voluntary and customers of all utilities across the country that meet the criteria are surveyed,” said Jane Van Dyke, president of the Clark Public Utilities Board of Commissioners. “Clark Public Utilities has ranked highest in customer satisfaction in our class and often one of the highest in the country every year since the first year we were eligible for inclusion 16 years ago. It’s a testament to the value of non-profit public power that operates safely and responsibly to benefit all customers and the communities we serve.”
J.D. Power designs and finances the study, a standardized measure of satisfaction available for the electric residential utility industry. More than 100,000 residential electric utility customers throughout the U.S. responded online to the study. Based on these responses, the study compared 149 electric utility brands, collectively serving over 105 million households.
“We are very proud that customers continue to hold our work in such high regard, but we don’t take their satisfaction for granted,” said Lena Wittler, Clark Public Utilities CEO and General Manager. “There is much to celebrate in the survey results, but there are also valuable insights that will help us identify opportunities for continuous improvement as we work to provide the highest value to our customers, every day.”
The West region covers Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, Nevada and Utah. Midsize utilities in the report serve between 100,000 and 499,999 residential customers.
