– Help restore Salmon Creek habitat Feb. 25, March 10, 24 or April 7, 2012 –

VANCOUVER, WA – Feb. 17, 2012 – Clark Public Utilities’ StreamTeam invites volunteers to register for Saturday planting and potting events in Feb., March and April. Teams led by AmeriCorps volunteers and trained Stream Stewards will plant hundreds of trees streamside in the Salmon Creek watershed and pot seedlings for this year’s events.

“Early spring is the time to prepare for the big planting push on Earth Day in April and these events bring together enthusiastic, committed volunteers to help get the sites ready,” said Ashley King, StreamTeam program coordinator for Clark Public Utilities. “It’s rewarding to make a difference from the beginning of the planting season and see all the hard work pay off later in the summer as the trees grow and thrive.”

Events are separate and volunteers are welcome to sign-up for one or more depending on availability. Advance registration is required and all tools and training will be provided. The events will be held rain or shine.

Dates:               Feb. 25
March 10
March 24
April 7

Time:              All Saturday events are scheduled from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Register:         Contact Ashley King at 360-992-8585 or [email protected] to register and receive details.
