Purpose

Clark Public Utilities provides water service to over 40,000 homes and businesses in unincorporated Clark County. As a part of our commitment to providing reliable and safe water service to customers living in the Hazel Dell service area now and into the future, the utility has identified a series of system improvement projects to address safety, water capacity availability and to support growth in the area. The new Lakeshore Water Tower on 94th is one part of a series of improvements that includes replacing aging equipment and modernizing utility infrastructure to protect the safety and longevity of Clark Public Utilities’ water system. This project is working in tandem with the 99th Street water main replacement that is happening in the area now.

Benefits

Aging equipment replacement and additional seismically resilient water storage capacity will reinforce the safety and reliability of water service in the Lakeshore and Hazel dell neighborhoods. In addition to new and lasting infrastructure on NW 94th St. and NW 21st Ave, the project’s landscape is being thoughtfully designed to add community benefit. The tower will be setback from the roadways and the surrounding landscape will include screening trees and plantings, pollinator garden habitat, sidewalks and a place for homeowners and the students and families of Lakeshore Elementary to be safely out of traffic.

Timeline & Status Updates

This project is in the land-use application process with Clark County. Homeowners and occupants in the area may receive additional notifications from Clark County as a part of the land use application process. Upon approval from the county, we will update this page with timely information for our neighbors as the project moves forward. We understand these projects can be disruptive and we’ll take great care to minimize disruption as much as possible for homeowners, Lakeshore Elementary and the members of Lakeshore Athletic Club that call the beautiful Lakeshore neighborhood home.
